Melania Trump Denies She Won't Be Moving Into The White House

Since the inauguration, Melania Trump has been conspicuously absent from any formal duties and the public eye.

Lindsay Reynolds, the daughter of businessman Mercer Reynolds, will serve as First Lady Melania Trump's chief of staff.

During the Obama years, it was the Los Angeles-based designer Michael Smith who reimagined the private quarters at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with an array of 20th and 21st-century art.

Melania Trump has previously stated that she and her 10-year-old son Barron would remain in NY so he could finish his schooling.

However, she has just hired NY designer, Tham Kannalikham to give the White House a whole new look to reflect the Trump administration. "She is far behind the curve compared to where modern first ladies have been by the time their husbands are inaugurated, in a quite unprecedented way", Myra Gutin, the professor at Rider University, told The New York Times. The Tham Kannalikham website is only accessible to clients through a private login. The internet is also oddly absent of any evidence of her work.

"Mrs. Trump has a deep appreciation for the historical aspects of the White House and with Tham's traditional design and expertise, they are focusing on a seamless integration of elegance and comfort into where the President, the First Lady, and (their son) Barron will be spending their family time and calling their home", Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, acting senior adviser to the First Lady, told WWD. "And she made a decision I totally respect, which is that she has a young son, he needs stability, he needs routine", she told People in July 2016 of the future first lady's decision to fly under the radar.

The Laotian-American designer got her start at Ralph Lauren Home in NY and now heads up her own firm as principal of Kannalikham Designs.

Melania Trump has yet to uphold numerous traditions of First Lady, including moving into the White House and accompanying her husband on public outings.
