According to Variety, Actor Dennis Quaid will star as former President George W. Bush for Ryan Murphy's second season of his anthology series, "American Crime Story". The second season is being based off the novel The Great Deluge: Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast by Douglas Brinkley.

At the same time, his official presidential library downplays the criticisms of the way FEMA and the administration as a whole handled the immediate aftermath of the storm. Executives are now looking to cast the parts of Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin. The series debuted a year ago with The People v. O.J. Simpson, which centered around the conviction of former National Football League star O.J. Simpson for the alleged murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and family friend, Ron Goldman. The TV miniseries which starred David Schwimmer, Cuba Gooding Jr and Sarah Paulson, went on to win 22 Emmy Awards.

Katrina: American Crime Story will be executive-produced by Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, and Brad Simpson and is set to air in 2018.
