OnePlus 5 name confirmed by OnePlus itself

DxO is behind the camera benchmark site DxOMark, which rates the performance of dedicated cameras as well as smartphone cameras.

According to Trusted Reviews, there has been no deficiency on news regarding the upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone, but the latest image leak reveals what the phone might look like.

After confirming the OnePlus 5's name and its summer launch timeframe earlier this month, OnePlus today dropped another tidbit about its upcoming flagship.

Beyond the camera, the next OnePlus flagship is expected to pack a whopping 8GB RAM and Qualcomm's 10nm Snapdragon 835 SoC. There's always more to be done to give you the ability to take clearer, more attractive photos.

DxO's senior vice president of sales and marketing, Etienne Knauer, said of the partnership: "OnePlus has always been one of the leading innovators in the smartphone industry, and we are proud to partner with them and support their exciting mobile photography strategy".

OnePlus is reported to add dual-camera setup on its flagship device but the bone of contention lies in the placement of the cameras. Now we just have to wait to see how the OnePlus 5's camera compares. Having that in mind, the OnePlus 5 leaked a number of times thus far, various renders and prototype devices surfaced, and yet, we're still not entirely sure what will the phone like. DxO has years of imaging experience and expertise so they're the right partner for OnePlus.

On the other hand, it wouldn't be a major surprise for the most anticipated OnePlus 5 to feature a dual camera since the popularity of that story nowadays is above in demand.

Since we can't see the front of the handset, it's impossible to know how big the screen is and whether it will indeed keep a physical home button that would sit beneath the display.
