Russian Federation willing to give Congress records of Trump meeting: Putin

This week, the questions centered on the momentous revelations that President Donald Trump gave classified information to Russian Federation in the Oval Office - and that fired FBI Director James Comey wrote a memo saying Trump asked him to drop the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Following requests by multiple congressional committees for former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey's memos of conversations between himself and President Trump, the Senate Judiciary Committee is now requesting the White House turn over any of its any recordings of conversations between the two by May 24th.

"I hope you can let this go", Trump told Mr. Comey about the feds' Flynn investigation, according to Times.

The White House denied the report, and released a statement saying "the president has never asked Mr Comey or anyone else to end any investigation, including any investigation involving General Flynn".

The memo would be the clearest proof to date that the President has tried to influence the investigation into his campaign's alleged ties to Russian Federation.

While many congressional Democrats are calling for an independent investigation into the Comey allegations and reports that Trump gave away classified information to the Russians, Mast and other Republicans have been more cautious in their public pronouncements.

He said he spoke to a person who was present at the meeting between Trump and Russian officials and they repeatedly denied the president said or did anything that would compromise US intelligence sources, methods or relationships. "And that includes the President of the United States of America", Green said on the House floor.

It had already been a week of tumult at the White House after Trump dismissed Comey and then discussed sensitive national security information about the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group with Sergey Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister.

"We've learned that if the reporting is accurate, that the president is willing to directly interfere with an active investigation". And at the same time, at least one previously loyal Republican member of the House also mentioned impeachment, though in a much more reserved manner.

Soon thereafter another Republican lawmaker was seen supporting the impeachment move.

President Donald Trump holds his hand over his heart for the national anthem as he attends the Coast Guard Academy commencement ceremonies in New London, Connecticut, on May 17. Comey, who noted the request in a memo, was sacked by Trump on 9 May.
