"You will see" - Mauricio Pochettino slams door on Tottenham exit rumours

While Mauricio Pochettino has promised he will be at Tottenham next season, he admits it is hard to expect similar loyalty from his players.

"All the big clubs - Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich - are involved in tournaments".

The Evening Standard claim the end is nigh for the Belgium global as Spurs know he may need to be used more sparingly in the future.

Pochettino said: "If we are capable in the last two games of winning one, we will have a better (points total) than Leicester last season".

"Yes, they are loyal, they are happy to be here, but they want to play".

Ahead of the final two games of the season, Tottenham have already finished as Premier League runners-up but it took 19 matches before they broke into the top four and the manager has said a run of one win in six matches in autumn was fatal to their title hopes.

It is said that chairman Levy has previously been ruthless when it comes to offloading outfield players past their 30th birthday because their value at that age starts to dramatically reduce. They didn't play Europa League and Champions League, no European competition, and they were capable to be consistent in the Premier League. The Foxes now sit in 11th position in the Premier League.

"So now it is time for us to look at it and find a way to fix the team, find better tools to improve in our methods and the way that we handle and manage the team". If not they get injured, get problems, get exhausted, and then how it affects our management is unbelievable.

"But we also know our threats and we have to be aware of what we're about". I think it's exciting for the players that are here at Tottenham, ' he said. We don't want it to end up that we give one month and a half holidays and then we start the season and nobody is ready. It's true we can not change the table but it's important for us now to try to win, for us to compete.
