Former US Congressman Anthony Weiner pleads guilty to sexting teenager

Carlos Danger aka Anthony Weiner reportedly cried like a little beeyotch in federal court today. He admitted that their relationship was 'morally wrong, ' and he's facing up to 10 years in prison. Hillary Clinton's trusted aide filed an anonymous versus anonymous action in the Manhattan Supreme Court, according to the outlet, and is asking for the case to be sealed.

"I have a sickness, but I do not have an excuse", he said, according to the wire service. She said that Weiner, then 51, carried out a monthslong sexually explicit conversation with her in which he asked her to undress and sent her semiclothed photos of himself.

He pled guilty to one charge of transferring obscene material to a minor.

Weiner will appear in federal court in New York Friday to enter the plea deal, but may have to wait several weeks for sentencing.

He was released on $150,000 bail and is due back in court September 8 for sentencing, officials said.

In a statement to CNN at the time of the first reports, Weiner neither confirmed or denied sending the texts.

The incident spilled over into the presidential race when investigators seized Weiner's laptop and found a cache of purportedly new emails that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton sent to Abedin.

Beginning with my service in Congress and continuing into the first half of past year, I have compulsively sought attention from women who contacted me on social media, and I engaged with many of them in both sexual and non-sexual conversation. Through approximately March 2016, I engaged in obscene communications with this teenager, including sharing explicit images and encouraging her to engage in sexually explicit conduct, just as I had done and continued to do with adult women. Yet she agreed to be interviewed, with her father, "out of concern that Weiner may be sexting with other underage girls". Prosecutors declined to immediately release additional details about the charges against him. Clinton attributed her loss in the 2016 election to Comey's last minute disclosure.

David Schaefer, a spokesman for the law firm Covington & Burling, whose attorney, Arlo Devlin-Brown, is representing Weiner, said the former congressman's lawyer will comment later Friday.

Weiner ran unsuccessfully for mayor of NY in 2013 in a campaign that collapsed when Weiner, using the alias "Carlos Danger", again was found to be sending explicit photographs.

Weiner comes in second in a bid for the Democratic nomination for mayor of New York City.

In May, now-ousted FBI Director James Comey said that Abedin had forwarded thousands of classified emails from Clinton to her husband, but a week later, he recanted, stating that he had grossly overexaggerated the number.
