Fox News Host Says She's in Talks to Replace Spicer

Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle says she has been in talks with President Trump to become the new White House press secretary.

Guilfoyle, a former prosecuting attorney, told the Bay Area News Group that a "number of people" in the Trump administration have approached her about replacing the embattled Spicer.

Ms Guilfoyle, a TV personality who co-hosts The Five, said she thought it would be both a "fascinating" and "challenging" job which would require the input of someone who was both committed and concentrated.

Infowars reported on Thursday that Guilfoyle, part of the ensemble cast of The Five, is being considered as a replacement for Spicer, who was conspicuously absent from the White House briefing room on the two days after President Donald Trump fired James Comey as Federal Bureau of Investigation director. "I think it's a good idea".

Sean Spicer is the White House press secretary, but for how long?

White House officials had hoped last week's House vote would give the president a much-needed burst of momentum and infuse new energy into efforts to fully overhaul the "Obamacare" health law and pass a massive tax reform package.

And Guilfoyle was already gunning for the job on her show last week, responding to widespread criticisms of Spicer by saying, "If you want to be successful and do communications with President Trump, you have to be someone who he actually wants to spend a little bit of time with".

President Donald Trump had not expected such a strong reaction over his decision to fire FBI Director James Comey, he told Fox News' Jeanine Pirro in an interview that aired Saturday.

Several people close to the president say his reliance on a small cadre of advisers as he mulled firing Mr Comey reflects his broader distrust of many of his own staff.

Since Trump's initial tweet, it has sent Washington into a frenzy, with the Democratic member of the House Oversight Committee asking the White House to turn over any recorded conversations between Trump and Comey. "At the same time, life is exciting and it's about different chapters in your life, so I'm excited about the future".
