Jerusalem prepares for Trump's visit

The officers shouted at their U.S. counterparts in meetings following the news that Trump allegedly disclosed sensitive information to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak at the White House, Foreign Policy reported citing a USA defense official.

Flying in directly from his first stop in Saudi Arabia, Trump is unlikely to lay out Middle East peace proposals, not least because, as aides acknowledge, his administration has yet to craft a strategy.

International Christian Embassy Jerusalem-USA Director Susan Michael expressed her concern that Trump was being advised to delay the efforts to move the Embassy and make it instead as part of the peace agreement between Palestinians and Israelis. While Israelis call Jerusalem their "indivisible capital", Palestinians want the capital of any future state in the east of the city. They will be joined by First Lady Melania Trump and Mrs. Sara Netanyahu for a private dinner. The next deadline for such a waiver is June 1.

Bannon and Friedman are reportedly pressing Trump to take a substitute step if he decides not to move the embassy, such as a issuing a presidential declaration recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

"There's no planned announcement for the embassy on the trip", the White House official said.

Separately, the Post reported Thursday that a decision on the embassy could take place after Trump's visit. "On the contrary, it would advance it by correcting an historical injustice and by shattering the Palestinian fantasy that Jerusalem is not the capital of Israel".

USA officials had confirmed on May 17 that Trump had relayed highly classified intel on the Islamic State with Russian officials at the White House.

An official in Netanyahu's office said the USA comment was "received with astonishment" and that Israel had asked the White House for an explanation.

On May 16, a White House official told Reuters that the controversial West Bank comments were not authorized by the usa government, and that they do not reflect both the position of the us and of Trump. He will then see Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in Bethlehem, Reuters details.

Tillerson said the decision will involve feedback from all sides, including "whether Israel views it as helpful to a peace initiative or perhaps a distraction".
