Pochettino: "We will keep the players that we want to keep"

Pochettino:

Tottenham, who are guaranteed to finish second place this season, took on the team to whom they lost out on the Premier League title previous year on Thursday night.

When fully fit Dembele is undoubtedly one of the standout players in his position in the Premier League.

The England forward is now two goals ahead of Everton's Romelu Lukaku on 26 heading into the final weekend of the season. For him it's a season to fight to try to be the top scorer in the Premier League.

When asked after Thursday's win how Kane has improved this season, Pochettino said: "I think the most important thing is [he is] more mature and experienced, and then he's so professional".

If he carries on at this rate he would be among the quickest to reach the mark.

Young left-back Ben Chillwell took advantage of Hugo Lloris scrambling to get back in goal to calmly finish down the middle.

'To score four for the first time, it's a good time to do it, ' said Kane.

He added: "I am sure he is not too happy!"

“We are so, so calm about our key players.

"We said before the game that we'd secured second place and we wanted to go out there and enjoy it". To score more than 30 goals (Kane has 32 in 38 games overall) is a big achievement.

"We were talking about last season when we finished so bad". How many would he have gotten without those setbacks - and, the more tantalizing question, would the title race still be on if Kane hadn't missed time through injury? The Belgian has been successful with 84% of his attempted take-ons in the Premier League this season, while he has a superb average pass accuracy of 92%.

Erik Lamela (hip), Danny Rose (knee) and Harry Winks (ankle) all remain out. Due to a suspension carried over from last season, and an ongoing foot problem, Mousa Dembele had started only three matches by the end of October. Son has 21 goals in all competitions this season.

Despite these setbacks, Tottenham have still managed to deliver a record-breaking campaign.

But unfortunately for the north Londoners, champions Chelsea have been even more consistent.

'To be fair to him and the team, it's a very good collective effort throughout the whole season but we feel so proud of Harry.

Harry Kane has warned Scotland he wants a Hampden hat trick as he turned his attention to rediscovering his scoring touch for England. "We need to put it right for Sunday because we want to finish as high as we can".

Kane will benefit from more time off this summer than he has enjoyed in either of the last two. "I'm looking forward to putting on the Three Lions shirt and hopefully getting a couple of goals and winning those two games". I will keep myself fit.
