Spurs fan files lawsuit against Zaza Pachulia over Kawhi Leonard injury

Stephen Curry had 40 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals for the Warriors, who are now 9-0 in the National Basketball Association playoffs.

The lawsuit was filed in Bexar County district court in Texas on Tuesday, and it alleges that Pachulia's actions against Kawhi Leonard in Sunday's Game 1 "devastated the quality of the Spurs' chances of being competitive" and diminished "the value of the tickets purchased by plaintiff subsequent to their purchase".

With the Spurs, this is magnified even further after they lost Game 2 Tuesday night by the score of 136-100 in an absolutely humiliating effort. The former D-League player has been able to contribute solid postseason minutes for San Antonio, displaying growth and adding the hope that he could be a bigger contributor for the Spurs moving forward regardless how this series finishes up.

The Golden State Warriors look ready to return to the NBA Finals for the third straight year, while the San Antonio Spurs are on the verge of missing the finals for the third straight year.

During the Warriors' Game 1 victory, Pachulia was defending an outside jump shot by the Spurs' Leonard.

"That's just been the message all year, just play with urgency and start the game off with some energy and throw the first punch", Durant said.

Popovich called out every member of the Spurs, except for forward Jonathon Simmons, for showing fight in the lopsided loss.

Popovich chuckled about it before the game.

I'm like, 'Hey, I'm being bullied by Oakland PD or San Francisco PD in my own building, my own parking lot.' So I start to go a little bit and another one pulls up: 'Hey, you, you heard him, stop!'

"The only way I can process this is I think it's not about the O's and X's or rebounds or turnovers or anything like that". Popovich made that abundantly clear in his pointed remarks after Game 2 when he lamented the team's lack of intensity and belief. "You've got to be sharp for 48 minutes and you've got to take it to them", Spurs centre Pau Gasol said. Whether they win or they lose, I want to see how they play. No team in the history of the NBA Playoffs has come down from that deficit to win a series. Stephen Curry has 69 points on 39 shots this series.

Obviously I feel like I should be a first-team player, but it is what it is", he told reporters. I just wanted to try to take advantage of the digging on me and doubling in the baseline and doubling from the middle too. At times it was three guys there. But I took myself out of it.

Game 3 is set for Saturday night in San Antonio, meaning Leonard will have almost a whole week's rest from Game 1 before the contest is set to tip-off.

Neither the Golden State Warriors nor attorneys for the plaintiffs returned The Post's request for comment.
