Wenger responds to Adams' jibe; gives Sanchez, Ozil update

Arsenal trail fourth-placed Liverpool by a point with one game left in the season and risk missing a Champions League spot for the first time during manager Arsene Wenger's 20-year reign at the club.

The Arsenal legend only represented the north Londoners in a 19-year career, playing under Wenger for five-and-a-half years in that period. Lukaku will want to score to make sure he wins the Golden Boot, but Arsenal need the three points to give them a chance for the top four.

Asked directly whether Sunday's match - on which their Champions League qualification hopes hinge - would be his last at the club's Emirates Stadium, Wenger replied: "I can not tell you that".

When pushed on whether that is when a decision on his future will be finalised, he said: "Yes".

"In a football club today, you have to employ people who can help you to be successful". One of those is what happens with the manager, the players coming in and contract renewals.

"Of course I will be there".

Wenger has come under increasing pressure from fans and pundits, with some believing it to be the right time for him to step aside and let someone else have a go.

The under-pressure manager is out of contract at the end of the season and is facing growing calls to quit.

Wenger spoke to the press ahead of his side's final Premier League fixture of the season against Everton, via Reuters UK, and stated that he would hold discussions with Arsenal's board on 27th May to finalise his future plans.

Wenger brushed off the quotes by replying: "Well, I do not give too much importance to what Tony Adams says. What happens to me after that is less important".

"At the time, the wages weren't going to be much better, and I was stuck in my drinking and the London life with my mates and family around me".

With his future at Arsenal still undecided, Arsene Wenger has further muddied the waters at the Emirates after he "ridiculed" the idea of working alongside a director of football.

Now managing relegated LaLiga outfit Granada, Adams' new autobiography is being serialised in a national newspaper. Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern, they always buy more players and I think we can have the option to buy more players to be stronger every day.

'Actually in the original draft, I said he couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag.

"I don't think Sunderland did that tonight, We had a go".
