Trump Arrives In Israel For Second Leg Of International Trip

U.S. President Donald Trump slammed a "terrible" nuclear deal signed with Iran and said the country must stop supporting "terrorists and militia" and must "never ever" acquire nuclear weapons.

While public statements on the peace process and the status of Jerusalem may dominate headlines, behind the scenes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will ask the us president to impose new sanctions on Iran for threatening the Jewish state with ballistic missiles and sponsoring terrorism, Oren said. U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, speaking to reporters on Air Force One, said the U.S. could provide clarifications to Israel about what happened but said, "I don't know that there's anything to apologize for".

"And it must cease immediately ..." "We understand each other", Netanyahu said, thanking Trump for "the change in American policy on Iran" and the "reassertion of American leadership in the Middle East". Rohani, who won last week's presidential election, told a news conference.

KEITH: Well, he is the first sitting US president to do this. Ivanka Trump touches the Western Wall, Judaism's holiest prayer site, in Jerusalem's Old City Monday, May 22, 2017.

Trump was accompanied by the Western Wall's rabbi, Shmuel Rabinovitz, during the visit.

The dispute deepened the following day when Trump's national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, declined to say whether the Western Wall is in Israel, dismissing the question as "a policy decision" that he would not answer.

"While the President's visit to Israel is brief, he has chosen to commemorate the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust by participating in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance".

A senior official who was part of the Palestinian delegation said Trump is planning to try to relaunch peace talks, with a goal of reaching an agreement within a year. They all warned that the move would inflame tensions in the region and add an obstacle to peace talks before they even got off the starting block.

That was the sound greeting President Trump this morning as he landed in Israel, where he's hoping to pull off what he has described as the ultimate deal, getting the Israelis and Palestinians to the same table.

The closest Trump came to acknowledging the human rights situation was a call for the region's leaders to stand together against "the oppression of women". DRIVE THEM OUT of your places of worship.

White House aides have played down expectations for significant progress on the peace process during Trump's stop, casting it as more symbolic than substantive.

Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan informed Trump of a possible attack in Tel Aviv that transpired while the president was airborne.

"The majority of people in Israel, unlike the media, they love us, so we tell them how you are great, and they love you", Mrs. Netanyahu said.

The Russia disclosure is just one of a growing list of scandals that followed Trump and his team on their first diplomatic trip, a five-country trek from the Middle East to the Vatican to Europe. "It's part of the West Bank" - a remark that an Israeli official said was "received with shock".

In the days following his dismissal, The Washington Post reported that during Mr. Trump's meeting with the Russian officials, he shared highly classified intelligence, which CBS News confirmed originated with the Israeli government.

Trump landed at Ben-Gurion International Airport for a two-day visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories as part of his first trip overseas since taking office.
