Labour Party condemns Corbyn

An ORB poll for the Sunday Telegraph put support for Labour on 38%, six points behind the Conservatives and a result which would see Jeremy Corbyn outpoll both Ed Miliband and Gordon Brown.

One poll published on Tuesday showed her lead had been cut to 6 percentage points from 9 points a week ago and 18 points two weeks ago as voters reacted badly to the Conservatives' manifesto.

When asked whether he would contemplate a scenario where Britain failed to strike an arrangement with the rest of the bloc, Jeremy Corbyn said: "There's going to be a deal".

Mr Corbyn replied: "If we don't bring about a ceasefire in Syria between the various warring factions - some of which are nearer to Isis than others, some of which are very pro-West and some of which are Syrian government, some of which are pro-Russian - there has to be a peace process. We have to be prepared to walk out", she said to applause during a Sky News interview on Monday.

"Having broken her flagship pledge on social care just days after she launched her manifesto, Theresa May needs to give clear answers" about her plans, Andrew Gwynne, Labour's election coordinator, said in an email.

The Labour leader responded: "But you know what in life you meet lots of people, some I agree with some I profoundly disagree with".

After accepting that she had backed down over proposed hikes on national insurance by the self-employed, Paxman said: "What one's bound to say is that if I was sitting in Brussels and I was looking at you as the person I had to negotiate with, I'd think "she's a blowhard who collapses at the first sign of gunfire".

"She is a prime minister that has seemed to ideal the art of the U-turn", Sturgeon said. But they have no complaints at all when Tory MPs make the exact same foreign policy-terrorism point, but in much more direct (in David Davis' case) and downright insensitive (in Boris Johnson's case) ways. "I have in the past and still do often meet people from Sinn Fein".

Mr Corbyn also said that he accepted the result of the Brexit referendum and that Britain would be leaving the EU.

But spokespeople for Corbyn told Board of Deputies President Jonathan Arkush that "Jeremy Corbyn condemns the Munich massacre and its perpetrators, and that what he was attending was not anything to do with perpetrator Atef Bseiso, but an event to commemorate the 1985 bombing of the PLO headquarters", the board wrote in a statement Monday.

Nigel Farage, former leader of the UK Independence Party and a leading Brexit campaigner, said in a surprise tweet that Corbyn came across in the broadcast as being "totally sincere", although he did not agree with him.

Mr Corbyn's attempt, following last week's atrocity, to draw a link between British involvement in military interventions overseas and terrorism at home led to Tory accusations that he was making excuses for extremists.

"We will also legislate to ensure safe staffing levels in the NHS, including for our ambulance services".

"We're in there to get the best deal for the United Kingdom, and actually I'm optimistic about that because I think in the European Union they want to continue their relationship with us as well".
