The deal Trump is cooking

President Trump was the first US president to visit the Western Wall.

The unnamed Ramallah official tells Israel Hayom that Trump's plan to first grant Israel normalized ties with much of the Arab world before negotiating the specifics of a two-state solution is supported by Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The Arab states continue to refuse to normalise relations with Israel before resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and they have received no assurance that the U.S. will deal with Iran with an iron fist.

"As opposed to here in the US where they're barred from Trump press events because they're journalists".

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a speech during the state memorial ceremony marking the 50 anniversary of the Six Day War and stressed the importance of the defense aid that Israel receives from America.

Tillerson also said, "We solve the Israeli-Palestinian peace dilemma, we start solving a lot of the peace throughout the Middle East region", a linkage that Netanyahu, who has said peace with other states is achievable before Israeli-Palestinian issues are resolved, has in the past forcefully rejected. And just after Trump makes the statement, Israel's ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, is seen running his hand through his hair - a move that some have interpreted as embarrassment on the president's behalf.

The marchers, mainly ultranationalist religious Jewish youths, waved Israeli flags and blew horns as they passed through the Old City's Muslim Quarter en route to the Western Wall, above which is the city's most sensitive site, a hilltop compound where the al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site to Muslims, resides.

Trump's visit to the Middle East and Israel has demarcated his administration from his predecessor's in stunning ways. With determined leadership, however, and efforts to contain his opponents in a bid to take advantage of the historic opportunity presenting itself, Abbas can prove to Trump and to the entire world that this time, the Palestinians have no intention of blowing their chances.

Then Trump went to Israel. Trump received multiple standing ovations - one of his favourite measures of success - during a speech on US relations with Israel.

Other presidents have stayed away because the United States does not recognize Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem's disputed Old City, which the Palestinians claim as the capital of their future state. In recent years, such offers were extended to the Palestinian Authority (PA) in 2000 at Camp David, 2001 at Taba and 2008 after the Annapolis Conference.

Hagee added, "The Jewish state has the right to determine where it would place its capital, and it has chosen Jerusalem. ISIS targets Jewish neighborhoods, synagogues, and store fronts". Iran has nearly as many people as Vietnam, it's five times as big, and it's mostly mountains and deserts - plus some very big cities. "I was in favor of moving the embassy to Jerusalem". The law includes a national security waiver that presidents have invoked to stall the move. I ended it on the following note: "Even if the next USA administration preserves the nuclear agreement, the United States can not remain indifferent to the new threat posed by Iran to the freedom of navigation between Asia and the West. Let's hope that the role the United States assumes in this struggle will be consistent and leading, rather than transitory and marginal".

In 2016, the Southern Baptist Convention adopted a resolution "on prayer and support for Israel" that "commit [ted] to bless Israel" and supported its "right.to exist as a sovereign nation". What matters to this part of the world is that we feared a president who would seek to divide us, but got one who last night talked about unity and how standing together will ensure we do not fail.
