Comey to testify publicly about Trump confrontations

Mueller and Comey are both striving to ensure that the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director doesn't accidentally cause legal complications by his Senate testimony.

The Comey testimony could definitely change the way that both Republicans and Democrats think about Trump's conduct with Russian Federation prior to the election and after.

Senator Lee also said he hopes President Donald Trump will "get us out of" the Paris climate accord to reduce carbon emissions to thwart climate change.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer says Trump is scheduled to meet Tuesday with John Pistole (PIS-tul), the former head of the Transportation Security Administration.

The House panel pursuing its own investigation of the Trump campaign and possible Russian Federation ties has also sought information from Comey, asking the FBI to turn over documents related to his interactions with both the White House and the Justice Department.

According to The New York Times, those interactions included a dinner during which Trump told Comey to "pledge his loyalty", and an Oval Office meeting where he was asked to close a probe on Flynn.

"This Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story", Mr. Trump told NBC News.

What will James Comey's testimony to Congress reveal?

Comey's handling of the Clinton email investigation, however, entered the spotlight again last week after a report that a possibly fake Russian intelligence document, obtained by the FBI during the election, influenced Comey's decision to announce the end of the investigation.

Weissmann began his career with Justice in 1991 at the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of NY. He later joined and ran the Enron Task Force. If it happens, Comey's public testimony promises to be a dramatic chapter in the months-long controversy, and it will likely bring even more intense scrutiny to an investigation that Trump has repeatedly denounced as a "witch hunt".

Comey confirms that the FBI is investigating alleged ties between Trump's election campaign team and the Russian government.

During a White House meeting on February 14, Comey said Trump asked him to shut down a probe into former national security adviser Michael Flynn, whom the president had fired the day before.

A spokesman for Mueller declined to comment. "And he certainly has, I think, the possibility in his testimony of opening the door to an obstruction of justice charge". Meanwhile, cities like Los Angeles, Berkeley, Alameda, Cambridge, Amherst, etc., have already passed resolutions for the further investigation into possible connections into the Trump presidential campaign and those who might have been involved.

The Senate Intelligence Committee had announced on May 19 that Comey had agreed to testify in an open session.
