Commerce secretary appears to fall asleep during Trump's speech

He added said that nations of Europe, Africa, South America, India, Russia, China and Australia, had at one time or the other, experienced "unspeakable horror" from terrorist attacks.

Speaking at the Arab-Islamic-US summit, without naming Pakistan, Trump asked countries to ensure that terror groups don't find sanctuaries on their soil.

"This is a battle between barbaric criminals who seek to obliterate human life and decent people, all in name of religion".

"But we can only overcome this evil if the forces of good are united and strong, and if everyone in this room does their fair share and fulfills their part of the burden.the nations of the Middle East cannot wait for American power to crush this enemy for them".

On Saturday the U.S. and Saudi Arabia announced an arms deal worth almost $110 billion (98 billion euros), which was described as the largest in United States history.

Trump didn't use the term "radical Islam", which he criticized the Obama administration for not using, but he clearly identified Islamic terrorism.

It was closely watched given the anti-Muslim comments by Trump during his presidential campaign and his attempt after his inauguration to institute a temporary USA entry ban on nationals and refugees from several Muslim-majority countries, although not including Saudi Arabia.

US President Donald Trump on Sunday regarded India among the nations that suffered terrorism, according to a report.

The king directed much of his ire toward Iran, saying the Arab world had no problems with that country until its 1979 revolution brought a theocratic government that quickly turned to terrorism and regional ambitions.

Mr Trump offered few indications of whether he planned to shift USA policy to better-fight terrorism.

The victims of this terrorism have already included more Muslims than those of any other faith. Drive them out of your places of worship.

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir said his country wants the USA to know that they are "not an enemy" and are committed in the fights against extremist groups like Daesh, also known as the Islamic State.

B'nai B'rith in a statement issued Sunday evening praised Trump for calling on Arab nations to join in the fight against Islamic terrorism and for "challenging the Arab world to unite in confronting Iran - the largest state sponsor of global terror".

The US secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, said the military aid is aimed at countering "malign Iranian influence".
