Apple gives a sneak peek at its upcoming iMac Pro

Apple gives a sneak peek at its upcoming iMac Pro

APPLE HAS LAUNCHED a bunch of new Mac hardware at WWDC, including an upcoming iMac packing a "workstation-class" 18-core Intel CPU and AMD Radeon Vega GPU. The HomePod, Apple says, is a wireless speaker that uses "spatial awareness" to adjust its output to the shape of its surroundings. For now, the firm has stated that the computer will arrive in December and will be priced starting at $4999.

Additionally, the new machines bring a host of minor improvements, including an improved 1080 FaceTime camera, UHS-II SDXC card slot, and Bluetooth 4.2. If you want more power and that insane 5K display (it's gonna cost you!) then go with one of the 27-inch models. So the new iMac Pro will effectively be almost 400 per cent mark powerful than the Microsoft machine (which, to be fair, it should be considering the absolutely massive disparity in price!).

Apple also updated the storage, giving the standard Macbook a "newer generation" PCIe SSD as well as added 16GB DDR3 memory option to its 15-inch MacBook Pro.

The dark grey computer sports a 27-inch, 5K display and will start at $US4999 ($6676) in the US.

The iMac Pro also comes with up to 128GB of memory and 4GB of flash storage.

If you were disappointed that Apple didn't debut its new MacBook Pro design with the latest Intel processors, the 2017 models are just the thing you've been waiting for. Thus, users will be able to choose from 10-core and 18-core models, with the most powerful iMac Pro able to deliver 22 tflops of computing power. For graphics acceleration Apple is equipping the new Radeon Pro Vega GPU, claimed to be "the most advanced graphics ever in a Mac". Notoriously when Apple refreshed its laptop line last year, for the first time in two years, it skipped out on Kaby Lake. Does any of these new MacBook models seem attractive enough to warrant a purchase, or are the upgrades not good enough?

Giving a sneak peek of the new iMac Pro, Ternus said, "We're thrilled to give developers and customers a sneak peek at iMac Pro".

For more than 45 years AMD has driven innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies ― the building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the datacenter. The update includes refinements to Photos and enhanced ad-blocking features for Safari.

Finally, the company previewed some improvements coming to the Apple Watch. You get what you pay for and nothing more.
