Minecraft: Story Mode - Season 2 to debut in July

Minecraft: Story Mode - Season 2 to debut in July

A few days back, we reported that the Australian ratings board seemed to have leaked a second season of Minecraft Story mode. well today Mojang and Telltale Games confirmed that it's true, and episode one will drop on July 11th.

The main voice actors from the first season will be returning, like Patton Oswalt, Catherine Taper and Ashley Johnson. Apparently, a treasure hunt gone wrong will result in Jesse's hand being stuck in a cursed gauntlet, while there will be plenty of things returning players will find familiar in the second season.

The first season consisted of eight episodes, an unusual occurrence for a Telltale title considering its episodic games typically arrive in parts of five.

Minecraft: Story Mode - Season 2 will be available for download on Android, iOS, Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This season will feature plenty of twists and turns we're sure (we're still bitter about Reuben), and Telltale has confirmed the game will include the Crowd Play feature to allow other to influence game decisions. Some popular Minecraft centered YouTubers such as Stampy Cat, and StacyPlays are also set to appear as cameos in the new game. This new season will continue the story of Jesse, who was also the protagonist of the last season, over five brand new episodes.

For a closer look at Minecraft: Story Mode - Season 2, check out the screenshots below. While Season 2 picks up after the events of its predecessor, and decisions made the first time around will carry over here, there is no prior familiarity needed for newcomers to jump right in.

Neither Minecraft nor Minecraft: Story Mode are required to play the second season. The developers plan on releasing more casting details as Season 2 nears release. The series is now in development and has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
