Fisker Releases New Images Of $130K EMotion Electric Car

He claims the vehicle would get over 400 miles of range on a single charge and a top speed of 161 mph.

That might seem steep but Fisker is promising a luxurious electric sedan made from aluminum and carbon fiber and capable of more than 400 miles of range thanks to graphene battery technology. A slight boost to range comes even from ultra-light carbon fiber and aluminum wheels, developed with performance racing wheel maker Dymag, reduce rotational mass by 40 percent. Fisker's patented frontal crash structure exceeds current standards to protect all occupants.

The EMotion can accommodate an advanced high-energy density, patent-pending battery pack and cooling system. It can be charged through the vehicle's proprietary UltraChargerâ„¢ technology, charging over 100 miles in nine minutes. But the designer's company also revealed some new details about the vehicle that could help revitalize Fisker's reputation in the EV market. If Fisker's newcomer is to have a similar run on deposits when orders open later this month as Tesla's Model 3, it'll clearly want to better the self-driving capability of Elon Musk's next offering. There's a new, smaller grille, different headlights and very interesting turn signals, while the front end also hides some form of autonomous driving assistance - "Eyes like a panther and front design with integrated LIDAR in the black center bright piece", tweeted recently Henrik Fisker. The company will be revealing more information throughout June 2017.

Along with the official price of the auto, which is technically $129,900 starting, Fisker announced that its plans for production of the EMotion won't kick in until 2019, and pre-orders for the vehicle start at the end of the month, on June 30th.

Fisker Service will provide its customers with a one-of-a-kind, white glove concierge service, providing Fisker owners a seamless day "free of interruption" for routine maintenance and servicing.
