Gophers To Host Miami For ACC/Big Ten Challenge

The two programs will square off as a part of the 19th edition of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, with the Wolfpack leading the all-time series 16-3. Tech is 4-3 in Big Ten/ACC Challenge home games.

The ACC won the last conference vs. conference challenge a year ago, but the Big Ten either won or tied the previous seven.

As alluded to in the first tweet, we don't know exactly what date or time this game will take place but we do know it will be in East Lansing. The Yellow Jackets have played IL and MI twice each.

In addition to hosting Brian Kelly and the Irish football team on September 23rd, the Spartans will welcome Mike Brey and the Irish basketball team to the Breslin Center as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. NU's non-conference schedule also includes a matchup against Kansas on December 16 at Pinnacle Bank Arena, three games in the Advocare Invitational as well as the annual intrastate matchup with Creighton.

Florida State is coming off a 26-9 season that included a win against Florida Gulf Coast in the NCAA Tournament.

The annual Big Ten-ACC Challenge is filled with excitement for Michigan State fans, usually because the Spartans get paired up with top-tier teams from the opposing conference. Four of the games were played at Alexander Memorial Coliseum, where Tech defeated Wisconsin (2001) and MI (2004) and went 1-1 against Penn State (2006, 2008). Notre Dame's other two wins in the ACC/B1G Challenge came over Iowa and IL. Tech also has visited Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan State, Indiana and Northwestern (twice).

Tech and Iowa have met three times in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, and the Hokies have won every game. Tech did not participate in 2009 and 2015. The Yellow Jackets also host Duke, Miami, NC State, Syracuse and Virginia Tech, and will travel to Boston College, Florida State, Louisville, North Carolina and Pittsburgh.
