Michelle Carter trial: Watch day four of the trial

Michelle Carter trial: Watch day four of the trial

Carter was 17 at the time.

As the truck filled with fumes, he got out at one point, but Carter told him to "get back in", Ms Flynn told the MA juvenile court.

Four days after Roy's death, Carter texted Ali Eithier, who she met at a summer camp in 2014 and barely knew, that she "was on the phone talking to him when he killed himself".

A series of young women who knew Carter were called to the stand, all of whom said Carter texted them about Roy's suicide even though they weren't close with her.

Jeffrey Noble went through squad auto video while testifying Wednesday in the trial of St. Anthony police Officer Jeronimo Yanez, who is charged with manslaughter in the death of Philando Castile.

She said Carter's text said, "I put the Homers for Conrad on Facebook!" I want my family to know there was nothing they could do.

The trial began Monday, June 5 in Taunton Trial Court.

Flynn said the defendant used her boyfriend's suicide for attention and popularity among social circles, after having previously expressed to another friend that she's lonely. Yanez, who is Latino, shot Castile during a traffic stop after the 32-year-old elementary school cafeteria worker told him he was carrying a gun.

In a text to Boardman on the night Roy died, Carter wrote: "I heard moaning like someone was in pain and he wouldn't answer when I said his name".

"The prosecution has to be able to prove that the text messages pushed the victim over the edge in this case or she walks", Attorney Aron Keller of LawNewz.com told Inside Edition. Here are some of the texts Carter sent.

"All you have to do is turn on the generator and you will be free and happy".

Conrad Roy died in 2014.

Outside of text messages, Carter posted to Facebook about the loss of her boyfriend. He had asked her what she would do in his position, and she told him at one point that she would seek help.

On cross examination, Bates admitted there had been other texts in which Carter tried to help Roy with his depression.

Overnight and into the next morning, Roy shares concerns over how his parents would handle his suicide. However, around July 8, 2014, the messages became less compassionate and helpful, and started to become her egging him on to end his life.

What was apparently working was Roy's attempt to take his life by inhaling the deadly gas in his black Ford F-150, according to testimony on the second day of Carter's trial on involuntary manslaughter charges.

"I think they're going to try to make an example out of her because of the political climate right now", Winner-Davis said. The judge alone will decide her fate now. She called police later when she noticed her son's truck missing.

Carter defense lawyer Joseph Cataldo told jurors that all of the physical actions that led to Roy's death were his own and that Carter was miles away when he killed himself. After his death, she fundraised for mental health awareness and led a charity softball event in his honour.
