Taylor Swift returns to Spotify the same day Katy releases album

Back in 2015, Taylor Swift was one of the hottest artists of the year and when she announced that she would not be making her latest materials available for streaming, it was a pretty big deal. Swift's entire catalogue, including her 2014 breakout, 1989, is available to stream as of midnight earlier today. The executives changed their payment policies immediately and Taylor has since forged a partnership with them.

But for now, all eyes will be on the charts because Katy Perry and Taylor Swift's fans will press play on both of their music.

Taylor wrote the song Bad Blood about their feud but has never directly addressed rumours it was about Katy.

She said the feud stemmed from a disagreement over backup dancers. I wish that I could turn the other cheek every single time, but I'm also not a pushover, you know.

At the time, Swifty explained her decision to leave services such as Spotify and Pandora in an interview with Time magazine, revealing: 'I'm always up for trying something.

It's the same day that Katy Perry's new album, "Witness", is released. Especially when someone tries to assassinate my character with little girls [her fans]. There was also her painfully awkward Saturday Night Live performance with Migos, which also drew criticism for appropriating drag queen culture. Swift only allowed Apple to stream her fifth studio album after the platform chose to pay artists royalties during its free three-month trial.

Most recently, the lyrics of Swish Swish, Katy's new track which features Nicki Minaj, appeared to diss Taylor. The unexpected return comes nearly three years after the Bad Blood singer abruptly removed her extensive catalogue from Spotify in a dispute over royalties. I got your number, 'Cause you're a joker.
