In addition, the 10.5-inch iPad Pro has its own Smart Keyboard ($248). It also serves as a mat to rest the iPad on when working.

At WWDC 2017, Apple announced a new ARKit for developers to create new augmented reality (AR) experiences for iPhone and iPad, using built-in camera, processors and motion sensors in iOS devices. At 10.5 inches, it's slightly larger than the standard 9.7-inch screen that's been around since the original iPad debuted. That price goes down to as little as $979 with 64GB of storage and just WiFi. "For those traditional business creators of spreadsheets, presentations and documents, I still believe most users prefer a pointing device, like a trackpad or mouse". It's been a year and a half since Apple revealed the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and a year since the 9.7-inch version.

Watch OS4 will rock Apple Watch and Apple Watch 2 are getting a new Watch OS4 update, and a new range of summer band colours has been launched too. You've got the same rounded metallic back (and now there's no plastic cut-out at the top of the device for the antennas, which improves the aesthetic) and it's incredibly light in the hand at 469 grams. I wouldn't be able to complete either activity with an iPad Pro.

We have already seen several Apple iPhone 8 renders in the past, but we have yet again come across something interesting today.

The bigger hardware news, though, isn't coming until December. Probably not, but Apple decided it could make the screen incredible and so it did. - Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of Product Marketing.

Once iOS 11 hits, it will be possible to run up to four apps on the screen at a time - two side-by-side, one floating and video in picture-in-picture.

This is the area where Apple has put in the most effort, and it shows. It also wasn't a good idea to buy a new iPad Pro.

That likely means Apple's NZ$259 smart keyboard case and also the NZ$159 Pencil, if you're looking to sketch. Encompassing optical image stabilisation, quad-LED True Tone flash and the ability to shoot 4K video, the main camera is a stellar shooter, delivering pictures that look rich and full of detail and noticeably better than the 8-megapixel unit on the regular iPad.

"This is the largest iOS release for iPad we've ever done", said Federighi on Monday.

As it is a direct connection and draws power from the iPad, you do not need to charge it or pair it using Bluetooth. Apple says CPU speeds here are 30 percent faster than last year's Pro, and that graphics speed has improved 40 percent.

When playing video things shouldn't be that much different to normal, so don't worry that your movies will look weird - the dynamic refresh rate is there to save battery as much as anything. A developer preview of the new operating system is now available, and a public beta for iOS users is set for release later this month.

When it comes to core performance, Blorge notes that the iPad Pro easily outmatches the MacBook. Of course, the Pencil is still a remarkable tool for the iPad Pro and in the new iOS you'll be able to literally draw on nearly anything you're looking at.

You wake it up by saying "hey, Siri". However, I am more interested in the work that Apple is doing to convert the iPad into a legitimate PC replacement.
