Sen. Kamala Harris: "When we use our voices, we've got the power".

Sen. Kamala Harris:

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) was once again cut off by her male colleagues as she questioned Attorney General Jeff Sessions during the Intelligence Committee hearing.

Harris had been aggressively questioning Sessions about whether he had contacts with any Russian businessmen or Russian nationals, causing him to become visibly flustered.

Sessions chaired Trump's foreign policy advisory committee, normally a point of pride. Miller called her performance "hysteria", leading to the following pleasant exchange.

USA Today's Kristen Powers voiced her disapproval of Miller's word choice, saying Sen.

Cooper agreed with Wyden and began asking how the Senate could force Sessions to cooperate. "Did you not ask your staff to see the rule that would be the basis of your refusing to answer..."

"Sir, I am not asking you about the principle", Harris interjected. I think it's like they're uncomfortable with women asking hard questions.

Harris: So did you not consult it before you came this committee knowing we'd ask questions about it?

"Well, I am unable to answer the questions", Sessions said. But his refusal to answer some questions frustrated New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich.

JASON MILLER: I believe this is the second hearing in a row with completely partisan screed.

"It's not a short answer, Senator", Rosenstein responded.

Sessions ignored Harris and doggedly attempted to complete his answer to her first question - but she continued cutting him off. He was referring to a similar situation during a Senate hearing last week where she was reprimanded for not allowing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to answer. True, what Harris accomplished by using rapier, rapid-fire questioning techniques with Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, the US attorney general, on Tuesday, and on three Trump administration intelligence agency experts earlier this month, was impressive.

As seen, anytime that Senator Harris's questions made anyone uncomfortable, she was cut off - once by Senator Burr and once by Senator McCain. Senator Burr got in on the fun once again, reprimanding Harris to "let him answer".

Sessions: - I'm not able to be rushed this fast. "Well we know it would be better to add more women to the board, but the problem with that is there would be more talking as a result". She's been on panels at think tanks with Massachusetts Sen.

Sessions: Well, I think most cabinet people as the witnesses you had before you earlier, those individuals declined to comment because we're all about conversations with the president.

Brzezinski said, "A secondary story given the nature of the questions being asked, but an important story".

Sessions' answer was the same one that he repeated throughout the hearing: "I don't recall". It didn't seem like he made any effort to try to get to the bottom of things.

Miller tried to explain why he used the term "hysteria", but Powers wasn't having it, and said the term often has a "gendered" quality.
