Mercedes tells dealers A-Class headed to the US

That starting figure has since drifted up to $33,625 (with destination), which evidently has the brand thinking about fielding a new A-class variant that would again target the magic $30,000 mark.

After years of back and forth over whether American luxury consumers were ready for the A-class small vehicle, Mercedes- Benz will finally bring an A-class sedan to the U.S.in 2018.

The concept A-Class is slightly shorter, but wider and taller than the current CLA. Dealers saw the actual vehicle, which was described to them as the brand's new entry-level model slotting below the CLA four-door coupe. It's expected to slot below the CLA-Class' retail price of $32,700.

If you are waiting to buy a more affordable Mercedes-Benz your wait is nearly over, Mercedes will bring an entry-level A-Class sedan to the U.S.in 2018.

Mercedes-Benz recently previewed the A-Class with the Concept A a few months ago. As for the looks, the Concept A Sedan - unveiled earlier this year in Shanghai - ought to provide a fairly clear indication of what to expect. Although a sedan version is vital to making the new auto a success in the States, this new format for the entry-level Mercedes is also expected to be offered in China and other markets too.

Mercedes will market Class A for the first time in the United States in September 2018, in a different form from EuropeWhile the CLA is now the entry-level Mercedes in the USA, this is likely to change by next year.

Two body styles are planned, a five-door hatchback and a traditional four-door sedan. This time around, our spy photographers also managed to get a photo of the car's interior, revealing a new dash and a pair of digital screens, although it's a more simplified version than what's found in more upscale Mercedes models.

"Mercedes-Benz has been successful increasing overall sales through model line expansion, and this will be another effort in that direction", Brinley said.
