ICC may have two World T20s in place of Champions Trophy

Twenty-three persons, who allegedly celebrated Pakistan's victory over India in the Champions Trophy cricket final, have been booked on various charges including rioting and unlawful assembly, police said today.

Nineteen cricket fans arrested in India for celebrating Pakistan's win against India in the Champions Trophy "should be released immediately", according to Amnesty International.

Police told the BBC that the Muslim men had been charged with sedition.

Fourteen men, aged between 19 and 35, appeared in court on Tuesday where they were charged with sedition and criminal conspiracy.

The villagers were arrested in the Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh state on Monday after police received a complaint that they set off firecrackers and shouted slogans following Pakistan's dramatic win on Sunday.

"We have some videos regarding the arrests, which will be produced in court as evidence". "People are not coming forward at this stage but I think someone would have made a video", he said.

The talented Pakistan captain said Shoaib Malik and Muhammad Hafeez supported him and the newcomers in the team.

"When the (cricket) match started, the odds were in favour of India".

However, an unpredictable Pakistan stunned India, beating the holders by 180 runs.

He said that there is nothing like junior or senior in the team, and all the players in the squad support each other. This happens only in case of Pakistan and this shows that the people consider the neighbouring country as an "enemy", Saamna said.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced price money of Rs 10 million each for every player of the national cricket team, as a reward for winning their maiden Champions Trophy on Sunday.

Relations between India and Pakistan remain tense, particularly in the disputed Kashmir region where a series of high profile incidents have heightened tensions in recent months.
