Trump Attorney: The President Is Not Under Investigation

Jay Sekulow, a member of the president's legal team, on Sunday still had to repeat he was not literally confirming the investigation.

But when one looks at that matter that way, "there's nothing to investigate", said Sekulow.

On May 9, Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, who was investigating possible collusion between Trump's campaign and the Russian officials. If there is an investigation of the circumstances of Comey's firing, and the Deputy Attorney General (who is serving as Acting AG for the investigation due to Jeff Sessions' recusal) was instrumental in the firing, that sure looks like a conflict, Turley says.

Attorney Jay Sekulow appeared on several news programs Sunday and Monday to say Trump is not under federal investigation. We have not received nor are we aware of any investigation of the president of the United States. It's hard to think of something more self-incriminating than the president firing the person investigating him for obstruction.

A few minutes before that tweet, Trump spoke about the witch hunt, saying "Despite the phony Witch Hunt going on in America, the economic & jobs numbers are great".

And so, investigators will likely try to determine whether Trump indicated in that meeting that he'd already made his decision, and indicated to them his reason for it, in effect enlisting them in an effort to create a cover story for the firing. To register your answer to that question, scroll down and take the poll below on this page. "I know you have good ratings, but it reaches a lot of people". "Witch Hunt." It was the first time Trump had publicly acknowledged that he's under investigation. But Trump has also said he had chose to fire Comey before Rosenstein wrote a memo recommended him.

Show co-host Brian Kilmeade also pushed back on Sekulow's comment, asking him why he doesn't take action on Trump's use of Twitter.

The person Mr. Trump appears to be referring to is Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Multiple sources tell People's Pundit Daily (PPD) that Mr. Mueller hasn't decided on the scope of the investigation, let alone whether it will eventually include President Trump. "So that - nothing has changed in that regard since James Comey's testimony".

Those are the prongs of the investigation - that we know of.

As CNSNews.com previously reported, Trump hinted that there may be recordings of his conversations with Comey. Dianne Feinstein of California, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said last Friday in a statement.

The two leaders of the panel have both been frustrated that key witnesses have testified before the Senate intelligence committee - rather than their panel - and both have warned that Comey in particular could face a subpoena if he does not agree to testify before Judiciary. Maybe the end of the year. "The best thing that could happen for the president, and the country, is a full and credible investigation".

The bipartisan measure, approved 98-2, now awaits action by the House.
