Yoga shouldn't remain confined to June 21: Baba Ramdev

The Bharatiya Janata Party president managed to lose 20 kgs by practising yoga and maintaining good eating habits, said the yog guru on Tuesday, a day ahead of International Yoga Day. Baba Ramdev is aiming to set a Guinness World record for the highest number of people performing yoga at a location. These aasanas will help you reduce your tummy. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was there as well.

"People who frivolously say that yoga is not a sport are ignorant and their opinion should be discarded". Ramdev's comments came at a time when the Union government is still in a dilemma over the inclusion of yoga in the competitive sports category. He said yoga should be an Olympics sport. NDA presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind and senior BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi also attended the event at Connaught Place. The International Yoga Day is held on June 21.

Talking about Indo-Pakistan tension, Ramdev said that the common people of Pakistan were not bad, only a few persons were spreading terrorism.

Ramdev was addressing a gathering in Ahmedabad in the run up to the celebrations of World Yoga Day on June 21. In a bid to create world record, as many as five lakh persons would perform yoga in Ahmedabad on July 21 on International Yoga day, which will be the biggest yoga conclave ever. Ramdev said Modi himself had asked him to break this record.
