CLIF Bars Recalled After Consumers Report Allergic Reactions

Following a recall by Clif Bar & Company, GIANT Food Stores, LLC and MARTIN'S Food Markets announced it removed certain CLIF Bar products from sale. These products may contain peanuts and some tree nuts, including almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, walnuts and coconuts.

The protein bar mint chocolate 68 g bearing UPC 7 22252 60644 0 and the code 2016JN19M6 until 2018MR08M6 is covered by the recall.

Those who aren't allergic to peanuts or tree nuts can safely eat the bars.

The affected products are sold throughout the country, in retail stores and online.

Individuals with allergies to these nuts, according to a release, are at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions.




The nuts could be unsafe for those with peanut allergies. The FDA said there have been no confirmed illnesses as a result of the product's recall. The affected "Best By" dates can be found on the back of individual packaging or caddies.

Clif Bar & Company asked consumers to return the affected products to where they purchased them for a full refund.
