Puppy abandoned in airport bathroom with heartbreaking note

Because she was fleeing a domestic abuse situation, she had to leave Chewy behind.

People magazine reported that a three-month-old Chihuahua puppy was abandoned in the bathroom at a Las Vegas airport, along with a heartbreaking note explaining the reason why the little puppy had been left behind.

The distressing discovery included a heartbreaking note that revealed why the precious miniature Chihuahua had been left behind.

'She didn't want to leave me with all her heart but she has NO other option'. According to the note, Chey's former owner was forced to abandon him because she couldn't afford to take Chewy on her flight. He probably needs a vet. The small pup was safely transported to a local dog rescue called Connor & Millie's Dog Rescue.

In the note it said the owner was a victim of domestic abuse and couldn't afford to take her darling pet dog on the plane with her.

"I cried", said Darlene Blair, with Connor and Millie Rescue. Please, please for me go to the shelters and rescues and adopter one for me!

Noah's Animal House is a safe place that works to keep sheltered women and children near their pets. When they do make the courageous decision to leave this toxic environment, these animal lovers are often left scrambling to find a home for their pets because most shelters for abuse victims do not allow animals.

Lori Nelson with Noah's Animal House said abandoning animals is a common effect of domestic violence but pleads there is help for sheltered women and their pets.
