Tupac t-shirt lawsuit 'baseless', say Kendall and Kylie Jenner

Tupac t-shirt lawsuit 'baseless', say Kendall and Kylie Jenner

The shirts sold for $125 apiece, but they were they pulled from the marketplace after Osbourne's wife, Sharon, and B.I.G's mother complained and the label apologized.

It called photographer Michael Miller's lawsuit baseless. The lawsuit states that the sisters "have misappropriated and wrongfully exploited at least two original photographs of late hip-hop artist Tupac Shakur, slapping the iconic photographs on garments and overlaying them with dubious imagery and text".

They explained that they purchased the images from a company that had been authorized to license them.

According to the Jenners, they only sold two 'Pac shirts before the line was pulled.

Understandably, Kendall and Kylie faced a swarm of criticism for it.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner, however, seem to be less concerned over their t-shirt line and more concerned with getting in some partying over the summer. Miller's suit also alleged that the Jenners "intended to exploit his photography" and didn't obtain his authorization.

Miller lawyer told Rolling Stone that since the Tupac images were registered at the U.S. Office of Copyright, he could be eligible for statutory damages of $150,000 per photo. Despite having produced the T-shirts with Miller's images, the sisters' clothing company, Kendall + Kylie, dismissed the claims. "There has been no infringement or violation of anyone's rights", a representative from their brand, Kendall + Kylie, said in a statement. It is unknown if the lawsuits will, however, move forward.

"These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologise to anyone that has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists".

The sisters apologised following a backlash on social media, saying it was "not our intention to disrespect these cultural icons in anyway". But sometimes sorry isn't good enough, and I am pleased to inform you that Kendall and Kylie are finally facing real legal action for their decisions.
