Margot Robbie Reportedly Tapped For Tarantino's Grisly Manson Murder Movie

Margot Robbie Reportedly Tapped For Tarantino's Grisly Manson Murder Movie

Deadline reports that Margot Robbie has been approached regarding the project, with an eye to cast the Aussie as Sharon Tate, the actress who was pregnant when she became a victim of Charles Manson and his followers.

And now King of Blood Quentin Tarantino is said to be polishing a script based on the events and has begun talking to big names like Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence.

The Manson murders were most recently put to screen in the NBC drama "Aquarius", starring David Duchovny as the fictional Detective Hodiak and Gethin Anthony as Charlie Manson.

The project, whose title is unknown, was written by Tarantino, who would also direct. Harvey and Bob Weinstein, who have produced and executive produced the previous Tarantino films, are involved, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

One of the most original and distinct voices in Hollywood over the last quarter century, Tarantino has so far tended to avoid straight adaptations and real-life stories, opting instead to create original films that borrow heavily from the films and genres that influenced him, often in surprising, innovative ways.

Because, hello, this is one huge director taking on infamous murder cases.

Tarantino is now putting the "finishing touches" on the script, according to THR. The package is set to come together before Labor Day. Manson is now serving life in prison as are a number of his followers for these and other murders that same year.

Quentin Tarantino is reportedly working on a movie about Charles Manson. Tarantino already wrote the screenplay.

If the movie comes together, it would be Tarantino's first film to be based on true events, assuming you don't count Aldo Raine's murderous rampage through Germany in "Inglourious Basterds".
