All set for IIFA 2017 in NY

The 18th edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) is scheduled to be held in NY from 13th to 16th July.

On Wednesday, the festivities of the IIFA awards began by ringing in the Nasdaq stock exchange bell at the Times Square.

The main event will be held in NY at the MetLife Stadium on July 14th and 15th. Bollywood celebs Riteish Deshmukh and Manish Paul will host the IIFA Rocks while the host for the green carpet will be Arjun Bijlani and Karan Wahi. "But New York is going to rock", Andre Timmins, Director, Wizcraft International, told IANS. The "Bhaijaan" of Bollywood, @BeingSalmanKhan arrives in NY for #IIFA2017. On Tuesday stars like Salman Khan along with his step-mother Helen, Karan Johar, Disha Patani, Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor along with his wife, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan were spotted at the Mumbai Airport.




This year's event will have a special show to celebrate 25 years of A.R. Rahman, featuring the maestro himslef along with Javed Ali, Benny Dayal, Neeti Mohan, Jonita Gandhi, Diljit Dosanjh, and Haricharan.

He said in the coming month they looked forward to welcome more and more Bollywood filmmakers and stars for IIFA and beyond, adding that over the last five years, the number of Indian visitors in the United States had "nearly doubled".

"We have always had a great relationship over the last 15 years. With two leading players from the entertainment space coming together for the awards gala, the teams promise to magnify its scope and amplify its vision to reach out to Indian cinema lovers across the world". The award ceremony will conclude the following day with a closing party. Colors will exclusively air the event live from NY at IST 9 a.m. and repeat at IST 6 p.m. on July 16, 2017.
