Global HMD is preparing to release a new Nokia

Nokia 6 registrations will open from today on Amazon India, and the smartphone will be listed for open sale on August 23 on the e-commerce website.

Finland's HMD Global has been busy trying hard to expand its first three Nokia-branded smartphones around the world, probably failing to anticipate the incredible enthusiasm shown by budget-conscious mobile consumers from India to the U.S. towards a middling Snapdragon 430 duo and an even humbler MediaTek-powered 5-incher. The Nokia 9 is expected to be the first smartphone from the re-incarnated Nokia to come with Carl Zeiss optics. This partnership has given us fantastic smartphone cameras in the past such as the Nokia 808 PureView - which came with a whopping 41MP rear camera sensor and the Nokia N95 - the first phone in the world to come with a 5MP rear camera. The company will be focusing on online sales with the Nokia 6 in comparison to Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 which were essentially selling to make their presence felt in the offline market. Amazon India said, "Only registered customers are eligible for sale".

The Nokia brand is back after HMD Global infused fresh air into it earlier this year by bringing the Nokia 6. Nokia 5 is priced at Rs 12,899 in India. You will be an Amazon account to register as well.

Nokia 6 users also get the Vodafone 45 GB data offer, where each recharge of 1 GB or more data gives users 9 GB extra data for a period of 5 months.

Nokia 6 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display, metal unibody design with Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The Nokia 6 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM.

On the camera front, the phone houses a 16MegaPixel rear camera 8 MegaPixel front facing snapper.
