Facebook on mobile may soon let you make GIFs

If you are a regular user of Facebook app's Camera tool, you might have started to see an option to create GIFs within the app. The website The Next Web was the first to spot the app update on Friday, noting that the function lets you create short, looping GIFs that last just a few seconds.

Facebook's GIF feature should be available to you already - to access it, simply swipe right on the home screen to access the built-in camera.

Facebook hasn't said when it plans to make the feature available for everyone, but it seems it's only being rolled out to iOS users for now. For lucky users who are part of the testing phase, the top portion of the app will display two modes: Normal and GIF. Unfortunately, Facebook doesn't allow users to share those GIFs to other platforms.

If you thought Facebook was running out of ways to help you bombard your friends' news feeds, think again.
