Olivier Giroud Admits His Arsenal FC Days Might Be Over

French striker Olivier Giroud has suggested he may leave Arsenal this summer after the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.

"Hopefully we can show Arsenal how football has progressed in this country and hopefully they'll take away fond memories of their time here".

"We had tough opposition because they fought for every ball but at the end of the day their goalkeeper was the man of the match", Wenger added.

The new Gunners signing Alexandre Lacazette celebrates after scoring a goal in his debut against Sydney FC.

"It would hit the team quite hard if he left because he's a player who always delivers", Ozil said. "I had an awesome welcome from the fans and from the club and it has been five wonderful years for me".

He's predominantly played on the left side of attack so there has been the fear among supporters that Wenger is lining-up the French global as a potential replacement for contract rebel Alexis Sanchez.

"We're not there just to make up the numbers or have a kick-about with these great players". Giroud started in just three of Arsenal's eight Champions League matches. Obviously, there will be more competition, even more than a year ago, but it's always nice for a striker to feel the pressure and I always deal with it.

The English Premier League side, making its first appearance in Sydney in 40 years, plays Western Sydney Wanderers in the same stadium on Saturday, with a similar near-sellout crowd expected.

"I think he's copped a lot of harsh criticism over the last couple of years but you've got to remember two years ago he helped the Wanderers to the grand final, so he is a number-one keeper", Arnold said.

Riera could debut, while last season's midfield revelation Kearyn Baccus might get a chance to start clicking with Bonevacia, who'll attempt to fill Terry Antonis' big shoes.

But the other was the brilliant display of Sydney's unlikely new cult figure, who pressed his case for a starting spot this season.
