New BLADE RUNNER 2049 Trailer Released

But while the first trailer focused on introducing us to Ryan Gosling's Officer K, this one hints at what's happened to Harrison Ford's Rick Deckard, the original film's reclusive protagonist, since then. The trailer makes the treeless future (where apparently Sony still exists, as it's shown on the alienating future-y pink billboards) look all the more breathtakingly sad, while circling the narrative of Ford's character Deckard's disappearance. It's not perfectly clear whether or not replicants will replace humans, but the truth could kick off a war in the process. Blade Runner 2049 debuted its latest peek on Good Morning America Monday, giving fans a bit more to chew on ahead of the film's October 6 release. Harrison Ford's Rick Deckard has been on the run for the past 30 years, and at least two parties are very interested in finding him.

"Every leap of civilization was built off the backs of slaves", Leto says. "We were being hunted" is a rather clear statement, especially when paired with the line about scrambling records, but who knows.

There's plenty of visual candy to keep fans engaged: a flying vehicle inside a building, Leto's insane eyes, a gunfight, snippets of furious action. The movie comes from executive producer Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Alien, Alien Covenant) and director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Prisoners, Sicario).

Movie studios probably release too many trailers for their blockbuster properties these days.
