Warriors' Green subject of assault lawsuit

Basketball star Draymond Green is in hot water again as he faces a civil lawsuit involving a slapping incident.

According to the press release, the man and woman will speak for the first time Tuesday alongside their attorney, Lisa Bloom.

According to ESPN, Green in confident the lawsuit "will be resolved soon".

He was released on $200 bond and did not appear in court.

His plea deal ensures that his sentence was reduced to misdemeanour assault to just a noise violation and civil infraction charge, which only requires a $500 alongside $60 in jail restitution.

An unnamed man and woman claim in the suit "physical assault, bullying and misleading statements made by Mr". A source said that Edmondson had been taunting Green as a result of the Warriors' Finals loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The slap supposedly occurred after Green and Edmondson had a verbal dispute outside an East Lansing bar on July 10, 2016.

The accusers claim Green's alleged acts of violence "have severly impacted their lives".

Edmondson later transferred from the school, though his decision to leave the Spartans program was not tied to the incident with Green.

Green revealed that he won't be commenting on the issue as his attorney is taking care of it.
