Lacazette delighted to get off mark in 'rollercoaster' Premier League debut

Alexandre Lacazette and Shinji Okazaki were on the scoresheet with barely 4 minutes gone, before Jamie Vardy gave the visitors the lead midway through the half, only for Danny Welbeck to grab an equalizer on the stroke of half time.

The impressive Vardy scored his second in the 53rd minute to put Leicester in front once more, curling Riyad Mahrez's corner into the bottom far corner amid poor Arsenal marking.

ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger said one of the "great days of recent weeks" was when striker Olivier Giroud passed up on the chance to leave the club. The spirit of the team was absolutely outstanding. "We let in some goals we could have avoided but we'll work to ensure we don't concede any more like that during the season".

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists match-winner Olivier Giroud will stay at the club this season. "If you look at that from a neutral point, for a first game it was a top quality game". "Because one was a corner, one was a goal where we lost the ball in the build-up and the third goal was a corner again".

"Giroud? He's fantastic", Wenger said of the France worldwide, who usually started on the bench last season and had been linked with a move away from The Emirates. "He's really loved here and in the end he chose to stay".

Carragher was speaking shortly after Giroud had helped Arsenal to an incredible comeback win against Leicester at the Emirates.

"We were quite good past year on corners and overall I believe that with a bit of work we can get that out of the system", the French coach added.

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare was good on his word and started Riyad Mahrez, despite the fact the Algeria global has asked to leave the club. He'll play 30 games, he'll give you 15 goals.

"It's impossible to keep them happy when strikers don't play. We were quite good past year on corners and overall I believe that with a bit of work we can get that out of the system". Fortunately we ended the game on a high.

"There were hard moments when we were down and we managed to get out of that and it's great to see".
