Junior Cert students get their results today - here's how they got on

MORE than 61,000 Junior Cert students were celebrating today having received their results.

The results show 81.7 per cent of students sitting the English higher level paper achieved a mark over 55 per cent compared with 76.6 per cent previous year.

According to The Irish Times, the number of students achieving As fell across many individual subjects - including Irish, Geography, History, French and German. Well done. Your teachers are proud of you.

A new grading system is being introduced for the English exam this year.




Students can also access their results through the online examination results service on www.examinations.ie from 4pm.

"The students appreciate the hard work from the teachers and they were quite anxious opening the results this morning, but the six lads are over the moon today", he added.

She said students should enjoy their celebrations tonight, but stressed that "they should do so responsibly and not put the wellbeing of themselves or others at risk".

Ahead of the Junior Certificate results being released, Drinkaware appealed to parents to talk to their children about alcohol ahead of their exam results celebrations.
