Insane Clown Posse fans protesting in Washington, DC Saturday

With Abraham Lincoln's giant statue looking on, Juggalos erected a stage and sound system and blasted hip-hop music as they chanted "family", painted each others' faces, and occasionally sprayed each other with the soft drink Faygo - a signature Insane Clown Posse move that some fans have described as a baptism.

As reported by the Business Insider, it was back in 2011 that the FBI Gang Threat Assessment report listed the Juggalos as a gang, saying small-time criminal behavior by those Insane Clown Posse fans has a larger potential for "gang-like" activity.

Todd Okan, 35, said he was pulled over by police in Sacramento, California, because he had stickers of Insane Clown Posse's "hatchet man" mascot on his vehicle.

Haddad whittled the group to four representative cases and partnered with the American Civil Liberties Union to file a lawsuit against the Federal Bureau of Investigation in a MI court, where the Posse is based.

The march's website includes personal tales of fans being fired from their jobs, stopped and detained by police and losing custody battles for being Juggalos, wearing band merchandise or having the band's trademark "hatchet man" tattoo, a silhouette of a man wielding an axe.

"We represent people who weren't born with a silver spoon in their mouth but instead with a rusty fork", one member of the group, Violent J, said during an interview in 1995.

Some took to Twitter to laugh about the coincidence of scheduling in D.C., where a pro-Trump "Mother Of All Rallies" protest was held at the same time as the Juggalos' march; both were set to begin Saturday morning.

"I didn't have a problem with this country. It's like they took that one thing away that made me not have a problem with the government", Violent J said in a recent interview with Reason. Roughly 3,000 people will attend the event, the National Park Service estimated.

Here's why my new buds are marching on Washington.

People gather for a rally during the Juggalo March, at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall, September 16, 2017 in Washington, DC. "MOAR will send a message to the world that the voices of mainstream Americans must be heard".

President Donald Trump skipped town for the weekend, but that didn't stop demonstrators from making him the focus of competing rallies in the nation's capital that highlighted the stark political divisions in the United States.

As for politics, however, the "Insane Clown Posse and most Juggalos consider themselves very apolitical", pop culture writer Nathan Rabin told NPR's Scott Simon.

"No Confederate flags, communist flags, or foreign flags allowed". The event will feature speeches from vocal Trump supporters like Marco Gutierrez, founder of Latinos for Trump, and Omar Navarro, the Republican challenger to California Rep. Maxine Waters, a Democrat. Social networking websites are a popular conveyance for Juggalo sub-culture to communicate and expand. "We condemn racists of all colors and supremacy of all colors".
