Arsenal Will Be Without Danny Welbeck Through the International Break

"Danny has a scan today", Wenger told reporters on Tuesday afternoon.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that England striker Danny Welbeck's will be out for up to a month with a groin injury.

Boss Arsene Wenger said the England forward is unlikely to return before next month's worldwide break.

England worldwide Wilshere has not started a game for Arsenal in 16 months, due to injuries as well as spending last season on loan at Bournemouth.

The 4 fixtures he will not feature in if he is out up till the global break would be Carabao (EFL) Cup game against Doncaster, Premier League clashes against West Brom and Brighton, and the Europa League fixture at BATE Borisov.

Wenger said: "Mesut is training again, but for (Wednesday), no (he will not feature)". He is suffering with 'knee inflammation'.

Germany playmaker Mesut Ozil, midfielder Francis Coquelin and his French compatriot, full-back Mathieu Debuchy, will also be absent for Arsenal on Wednesday evening.

Defender Calum Chambers will be included against the League One team, as the Gunners start their bid for a first League Cup since 1993.

"Yes [it will be a mix], but it will be a similar team to the one that played against Cologne", Wenger added, hinting that the likes of David Ospina, Rob Holding, Per Mertesacker, Mohamed Elneny, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud could all start.

Arsene Wenger confirmed to reporters in his press conference after the game that Welbeck had suffered a groin injury and the initial signs indicated it was a serious problem.

The Gunners will reshuffle again against lowly League One side Rovers in tomorrow's tie.

"We lost our collective game and couldn't score the second goal, it became more hard".
