How the Giants match up with the Eagles in Week 3

How the Giants match up with the Eagles in Week 3

Nobody in Philadelphia sympathizes with them.

Unfortunately for the Redskins, the Eagles and Giants play each other Sunday so, one way or another, the result will have a direct impact on Washington. They have lost three in a row and four of their last five in the Linc, where the Eagles will play for the first time this season.

"We're going to try and make sure that they don't get it worked out against us", Philadelphia defensive end Brandon Graham said.

The Giants have struggled mightily so far in the first two weeks of the season.

When the Philadelphia Eagles host the New York Giants in an NFC East matchup at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday (FOX 29, 1 p.m.), Sproles should be a big part of team's offense again.

His playcalling has been questioned and he's considering relinquishing those duties. Jenkins said. "Whether it's the first game, second game, last game I'd probably say the same thing". "And I think it's going to help me in the long-term".

"We just have to bond together and play great football", he said. "[I] just kind of keep it more situational with him". Last year, Wentz threw for just 60 first downs on third down the entire season. "Hopefully, we've kind of hit the rough patch and we'll work ourselves out of it".

That's why the Eagles can't become complacent in situations during today's game. The Giants are 0-2 while the rest of the division is 1-1.

"When somebody asked me, who is the team to beat, who else would I say but, the Philadelphia Eagles?". There's no need to press the panic button after losing by seven points to a pretty good team.

When the Eagles claimed Elston off waivers this week, they became his fifth team in the National Football League since going undrafted just a year ago. NY is sitting on a cowardly 0-2 record that paints them as the absolute worst team in the NFC East.

Jason Pierre-Paul isn't one for hyperbole. This weakens both, the offense and the defense of the New York Giants.

Safeties Corey Graham, Rodney McLeod and Jaylen Watkins sat out another day of practice Thursday with strained hamstrings. "He's a very hard player to handle, and their offense has missed him the first couple weeks", Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said of Beckham. He missed the Giants' Week 2 game against the Lions, with undrafted rookie free agent Calvin Munson starting in his place. It's going to take good team defense to do it. "It's not just one guy". Here are more things to watch for when the Giants visit the Eagles: CATCHING THE BALL: Neither team runs much, so expect to see a heavy dose of passing. Zach Ertz and Alshon Jeffery have combined for 320 receiving yards and one touchdown while Torrey Smith has five receptions. That's a talented group of receivers who should see plenty of passes coming their way.

Can the Giants Defensive Line get to Carson Wentz? Expect Ereck Flowers at left tackle, Brett Jones at left guard, Weston Richburg at center, John Jerry at right guard and Justin Pugh swinging back over to right tackle for Bobby Hart, who is out with an ankle injury. So if I'm out there at right tackle, I'm going to go out there and do my job.

762 - The Eagles put up 762 total yards in their first two games, good for fifth most across the National Football League and second most by teams that played their first two games on the road. The Giants haven't invested much into the running back position since Tiki Barber retired following the 2006 season. But if Manning finds time to throw, he should be able to find some open receivers. Wentz is plenty mobile himself and actually led the Eagles in rushing last week with four carries for 55 yards. Paul Perkins, Shane Vereen and Orleans Darkwa have shared the running duties for NY. He has already been sacked eight times in the first two games of 2017, which means that he is on pace to be sacked 64 times this season. But they've also allowed eight.

The good news for the Redskins is that NY has a secondary that could make Wentz very uncomfortable.
