Harvey Weinstein apologizes for sexual harassment in New York Times story

Harvey Weinstein, the producer of Hollywood classics like "Pulp Fiction" and "Good Will Hunting", has racked up multiple sexual harassment allegations during his decades as a grandee in the entertainment industry, according to a bombshell report. Neither the Times nor the New Yorker offered any details about their planned stories, but according to Variety, both will deal with Weinstein's workplace behavior, including allegations of a sexual nature.

Variety said Weinstein's legal team includes Lisa Bloom, the daughter of Gloria Allred whose recent clients include Blac Cyna and three people who are suing singer Usher for allegedly exposing them to genital herpes. Judd said that she met Weinstein at the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel, where she was summoned to his room; he greeted her wearing a bathrobe.

One of the women with whom he reached a settlement was the actress Rose McGowan, who was 23 years old at the time; in 1997, Weinstein paid $100,000 in order to "avoid litigation and buy peace". Weinstein himself told the Times earlier this week that claims in O'Connor's memo were "off base".

"How do I get out of the room as fast as possible without alienating Harvey Weinstein?". Judd said she was "panicky [and] trapped" about the incident, and because of his leverage as a head honcho at Miramax. "Though I'm trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go", said Harvey Weinstein in a statement to the Times Thursday.

"It was all this bargaining, this coercive bargaining". Some women making the charges are believed to be on the record.

The Oscar-winning producer also reportedly reached a settlement with an Italian model after he was accused of sexual harassment in 2015. Spokespeople for the New York Times and The New Yorker both declined to comment.

McGowan starred in the Miramax-distributed Planet Terror, directed by her one-time fiancé Robert Rodriguez, and tweeted back in 2016 that she hadn't reported a rape "because my ex sold our movie to my rapist for distribution".

Weinstein is the co-chairman of The Weinstein Company, which is behind films like "Silver Linings Playbook", "The King's Speech", and "Django Unchained". The woman claimed he asked her inappropriate questions about her body and groped her during a private meeting.
