No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas A&M Aggies preview, game time, outlook

"Coach (Nick) Saban always preaches about executing, and it shows". Oklahoma State would absolutely roll the Aggies in a bowl game, that much is certain.

Circle his name in red pen and watch every move he makes because Kirk is the kind of guy that keeps defensive coordinators up at night.

"We knew their quarterback was a great, great player, and we knew we had to get after him", Linebacker Anfernee Jennings said.

Alabama (5-0, 2-0) has won four straight versus Texas A&M (4-1, 2-0) after the Aggies defeated the Crimson Tide, 29-24, in their first meeting as SEC opponents in 2012 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Most Aggie fans would circle the Crimson Tide coming to town as the biggest game of the season. It was not a pretty site, and head coach Kevin Sumlin was squarely on the hot seat following the disappointments. The Aggies have been supremely talented since Sumlin stepped on campus, and he has yet to do anything about it.

We'll put aside the irony of comparing playing college football to working a job for a moment and focus on the overall message Saban is drilling home, because it is a valuable life lesson in all walks of life.

Last week, Ole Miss was 0-for-13 on third down, completing 5-of-10 passes for 19 yards and an interception while losing 22 yards on three sacks. A&M has three players - Trayveon Williams, Keith Ford and Kellen Mond - in the top 16 in the conference in rushing.

"Better be able to block 'em and people have had a really, really hard time doing that over the last five weeks", Sumlin said.

The Aggies have freak athletes all over the field on offense, but one of the biggest resides on defense. Holcombe said the unit gets ready for quarterbacks such as Mond in practice against Hurts, who leads Alabama with 461 rushing yards.

The Crimson Tide rolled up 365 rushing yards and five touchdowns in a 66-3 victory over MS last week.

"(Hurts) is really unsafe as a quarterback, but when he puts it down and runs is when good things happen for them and bad things happen for the other team", Sumlin said.

"But if we don't go out there and play a good game, then we're going to have all the problems that we had with the hurricane and we're going to have the problem that we lost". That could be trouble for a Texas A&M defense that will already be stretched thin by multiple responsibilities.

"This is certainly no time to relax or be satisfied", Saban said.

So far, Hurt has leaned on wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who has 24 catches for 322 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

It would suffice to say A&M has seen a lot of red after seeing Crimson and White.
