Parents leave three-year-old boy in corn maze, don't realise until next day

Authorities are trying to figure out how a 3-year-old boy was left alone in a corn maze overnight and wasn't reported missing for 12 hours.

According to Fox 13, police were called to the Crazy Corn Maze around 8 p.m. on Monday after they received a report of a child left behind.

The corn maze owner says the boy was scared and crying. He could say he was three years old was about it. When they got home, the mother didn't realize her son was missing and ended up falling asleep while watching a movie, Monson said. After closing time, the owners took the boy to the police station and officers then contacted the state's Child and Family Services.

Around 7 a.m. the next morning, police said the mother called saying she couldn't find her son.

Investigators went to the house and said several families live there together with several children between them.

Police on Tuesday praised the actions of the person who found the boy.

The mother reportedly said she entered the maze with a large group of adults and children, according to Daily News.
