The trailer will debut during halftime of tonight's Monday Night Football game between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings on ESPN.

A new in-theatre stand-up advertisement for the film's IMAX release challenges fans to choose "Light side or dark side", with the advertisement split into two literal sides. In a new fan-made video by Volpe Music, the Porgs - the furry, little sea bird-like creatures that inhabit a remote island on the sacred Jedi planet of Ahch-to along with the self-imposed exiled Luke Skywalker - take charge of the Star Wars theme.

Whilst Rey undergoes training to become a Jedi, her companions Finn (John Boyega), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) will find themselves preparing for another onslaught from the First Order which is led once again by the sinister yet troubled Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). And in the new trailer, in which he seems to decide against training Rey in the ways of the Jedi, he says, "This is not going to go the way you think". Luke Skywalker? Also of note: It's Luke, not Snoke, standing over the Dark Side villains. Of course, the staple of every Star Wars film in the Skywalker family saga is the Lucasfilm banner, followed by the famous line, "A long time ago, in a galaxy, far, far away ..." before the Star Wars title treatment bursts onto the screen. After all, he's dressing a lot more like a Sith lord than he used to.

We'll find out more when The Last Jedi lands in theaters on December 15.
