Calipari tires of questions about FBI investigation at United Kingdom media day

I understand why Calipari wants to avoid any type of questioning about the FBI investigation, as the college basketball season is quickly approaching and any type of distraction could be absolutely devastating to the mentality of a young team.

Regarding Pitino, his longtime rival, Calipari wouldn't say much: "It's unfortunate, all the stuff that's come down".

It's traditionally one of the biggest media turnouts of the season, University of Kentucky basketball media day.

Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari reacts to a call during the 2017 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament South Regional Elite 8 at FedExForum on Sunday, March 26, 2017 in Memphis, KY. So we were really interchangeable. "I am entitled to ask a question, you can then deny".

Tipton: "You can then not answer ... fine".

Tipton: The FBI has reportedly expanding into looking at Nike.

But, as I've repeated over the past few weeks, there are still way too many unknowns to be able to accurately predict where all of this is headed next. "That stuff happened over there, maybe there's other schools that go through it, or might be going through the same things". Credit to Tipton for insisting on asking his question.

Calipari: "Well, again, you're acting like you know something that I don't know".

"You don't blow up a system for 10 players, 20 players".

Calipari: Oh, that makes it true. We're going about our business coaching this team. "When we get back I mean hopefully we can throw in different lineups and you know just be the diversified team that I know we can be". How about a basketball question? Vanderbilt has been out after suffering a foot injury late last month.

While some United Kingdom fans bristled at the exchange on Twitter, Tipton, a U.S. College Basketball Writers Hall of Fame member, was praised by journalists and others for sticking to a topic at the forefront of the sport, especially with the investigation implicating a number of coaches at other programs.
