FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Sunny skies persist with temperatures slowly warming back up

Highs in the upper 80s, with lows in the 60s.

We saw a lovely Tuesday with much lower humidity, but well-above seasonable temperatures. Temperatures will be in the high 70s and low 80s by the afternoon with a cloudy sky.

Morning showers and cloud cover will remain in the forecast for Monday.

Temperatures will be closer to normal today as a northeasterly flow develops around high pressure that will drift across Northern New England. A few showers are possible toward late week, then drier and less hot and humid conditions settle in for this weekend. The shower activity will end late tonight as temperatures drop into the 40s and lower 50s.

Overview: Patchy dense fog will be possible overnight, with a cool low temperature of 53 degrees.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny skies and cool temperatures continue, with a high of 66 degrees. Highs should be in the upper 80s both days. However, the humidity will start to rise, so it will feel very warm. The region will add another quarter to half inch of rain today to Monday's impressive totals. An approaching cold front will increase cloud cover and rain chances Sunday afternoon. South Jersey may touch 84 or 85 degrees - the record high at ACY is 85 degrees, and could be in jeopardy Tuesday. Temps will be running slightly cooler than last night with lows in the low 60s with 50s north and west.

Clouds and showers clear out for Saturday and Sunday.
