In other news, Microsoft reiterated that the Surface Pro LTE is coming this year, amid earlier reports that the device is headed for a spring 2018 release date. Now Microsoft has confirmed that it will launch the new Surface Pro on December 1st.

In its vision to empower its employees with modern devices, Microsoft on Tuesday unveiled Surface Pro with LTE Advanced that will begin shipping to business customers in December.

Microsoft has revealed a new version of the Surface Pro with always-on internet capable of superfast downloads.

Other features of the Surface Pro LTE will be the same at the non-LTE variant, including touchscreen and support for the Surface Pen.

Microsoft's Surface Pro with added LTE goodness is due to land in the United Kingdom on 1 December, just in time for enterprise punters to request one from the local Santas residing in their procurement and IT department.

Microsoft is also offering an 8GB of RAM model with 256GB of SSD storage for $1,449. Both models will include Intel Core i5 processors.

The LTE version of the Pro uses a Cat 9 modem with support for 20 cellular bands, and is expected to work with 4G networks worldwide, rather than being limited to networks within a specific region. "With so many changing locations your device becomes your office and many of our customers tell us that's what their Surface is to them - a mobile office", said Panos Panay, Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Devices in announcement blog post.
